I met Shaun and Victoria through mutual friends of mine and when I heard they were getting married I was so happy for them! I had my fingers crossed they would ask me to photograph their wedding. Well of course they did or I would not be writing this blog!
In the months leading up to the wedding day, I attended parties where Shaun and Victoria were also in attendance. Now, if you know me, you know I am a people watcher its just something I like to do. When I looked at Victoria and Shaun they just had this wonderful energy that surrounded them; the way they would look at each other, laughed together and you could see the love they had for one another. Soul mate kinda stuff I guess you would say.
Well, the day came and without a doubt they had a wonderful wedding! I loved seeing all of their family members and how they all beamed with excitement for Shaun and Victoria.
Out of all the weddings I have the honor of documenting, I will tell you that it’s not just the details I photograph. Of course, I have to take the photos of the rings, flowers, cake and arranged group shots. However, through my lens I am people watching, l look for the emotional bonds between the people at the wedding. The way the groom looks at his bride coming down the isle, an emotional father dancing with his baby girl and even a grandparent holding a new baby, those are the moments I strive to capture. When I talk to married couples, they will tell me that their wedding day just flew by! As a photographer, it is up to me to show the bride and groom all the planning and hard work they put into that day, really did make it special.
Victoria and Shaun, as I sit here typing this blog I want you to know I am blessed to know you both and I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Love might not be all you need, but I know it when I see it! Congratulations!
Side Note: I have to thank my trusty guy “Jason” he was there filming everything while I snapped the night way. 🙂
